People in general are trying to be a bit greener theses days and plenty of folks are thinking about the impact their carbon footprint is having on the planet. I was driving down the motorway the other day and a sign said ?Traffic Cone Hotline`. It amused me to think of traffic cones phoning up the hotline and meeting fellow traffic cones in their area. Of course, the traffic cone hotline is intended for motorists and traffic cones are regularly used on the roads of the UK to divert traffic or to form temporary lanes. Us Brits are used to seeing traffic cones on our roads because the roads are always being repaired. It seems that no matter what type of road we drive upon the traffic cones will make an appearance. Where do all the traffic cones come from, I ask myself? Do they all come from the same family? When I think about it the traffic cones are actually really useful and we`d probably be really lost without them. Used as a way of guiding traffic on the motorway they can be extremely handy little items. When road works are taking place on the streets of the UK, traffic cones can act as mini marshals. They can direct traffic around holes in the road and stop them from coming to any danger. Furthermore, these traffic cones must be important if they have their own hotline for people to ring.
